Our Heavenly Father in His infinite wisdom has taken unto Himself the soul of our beloved sister Yvonne Hill Hawkins, 62 of Valdese, who began her Heaven bound journey on the morning of Monday October 17, 2022 at her residence.

Born on October 16, 1960 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of Ms. Willierose Hill and the late Jake Worley.  She was educated in the Philadelphia City school system and completed her high school education.  After relocating to North Carolina, she met and married the love of her life Mr. Darrell Hawkins.  Yvonne worked for many years in the manufacturing industry and retired after faithful service.  She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she attended until her death.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother James Hill.

Left to cherish her loving memory is her husband Darrell Hawkins of the home; mother Willierose Hill of Drexel, NC; children Xavier Davis (Shane) of Morganton, Lashawna Abrams of Morganton, Tabori Hawkins of Lenoir, Darrell Hawkins of Lenoir, and Dalisha Abrams (Jamie Patrick) of Morganton; siblings Porter Hill of Maryland, Michael Hill of Philadelphia, PA, and Patricia Hill of Philadelphia, PA; mother-in-law Annie L. Hawkins; 16 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration honoring the life of Mrs. Yvonne H. Hawkins will be held Sunday October 23, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Minister Alicia Connelly presiding and Pastor Wesley E. Hendrix as the eulogist; interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
