Mrs. Wilma McCoy Lowrance was born September 11, 1939, in Rutherford County to the late Homer McCoy and the late Dossie Doggetts McCoy.  She began her Heaven bound journey on Friday February 7, 2025, at her residence.  Wilma worked for many years in the healthcare field as a healthcare technician.  She was united in holy matrimony to the late Maxie Lee Lowrance, and to through this union, six beautiful children came into the world.  Wilma loved and adored her family, but most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She was ordained as an evangelist and served at St. John Church of God Ministries under the leadership of the late Bishop Gilbert Gooden and Pastor Diane Gooden.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Hugh McCoy and Charles Jefferson, daughter Rebecca McGimpsey, and grandsons Ernest Connelly III and Jerome Connelly.

Left to mourn her loss but cherish her precious memories are her daughters Shonda Kincaid and Elizabeth Corpening, both of Morganton; sons Ronald Lee McCoy of Raleigh, NC, Moe Lee Lowrance of Morganton, and Darnell McIntire of Forest City; grandsons Antonio Lowrance, Jacob Connelly (Kayla), and Dante Lowrance; four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A homegoing celebration honoring the life of Mrs. Wilma McCoy Lowrance will take place Saturday February 15, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Corpening Memorial Chapel of McCain Funeral Home & Cremations, with Pastor Gertrude Lowrance serving as the eulogist; interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
