Willie Mae
Pharr Ervin
June 2, 1959 – March 21, 2024
Our Heavenly Father in His infinite wisdom called from labor to reward our beloved sister Mrs. Willie Mae Pharr Ervin, 64 of Iron Station, who began her Heven bound journey on Thursday March 21, 2024 at Novant Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte. Born June 2, 1959 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Pharr and Nevada Wingate Pharr. She was educated in the Lincoln County School System, attending Rock Hill Elementary, Red Springs Middle, and East Lincoln High School. "Mae" as she was affectionately known was employed at Heath House where she worked fourteen years as director of first impression, transportation, and other areas. She was a dedicated member of Tucker's Grove Church where she was served on the usher board, New Life Choir, the Women's Organization, and as a Lay Speaker. She was joined in holy matrimony to Mr. Kenneth Ervin and through this union they raised several children and grandchildren. Mae loved to shop and had a passion for loving and caring for people. Most of all, she enjoyed being with Dokie, whom she called Dora, spending time laughing and talking with each other. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey Pharr.
Left to mourn her loss but cherish her precious memories is her loving husband Kenneth Ervin of the home; sons Chad Clark of Iron Station, Emmanuel Baker Jr. (Reinisha) of Mt. Holly, NC, and Ryan Ervin; daughter Lauran Ervin; grandchildren: Amari Easter, Chazz Williams, Roman Williams, Isaac Williams, Uylyssa Baker, Nevada Baker, Eliza Baker, Raylen Baker, Remia Baker, Ryan Ervin Jr., and Mariano Ervin; brothers James Pharr (Linda), Jerry Phar (Barbara), Melvin Pharr, and David Pharr (Libby); sister Doris Pharr, special sister Dorcas "Dokie" Ramseur, aunt Cora Mae Derr, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held Thursday March 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Tucker's Grove Church in Iron Station; interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
