Born on December 8, 1965, William lived a life that touched countless hearts through his warmth, kindness, and unyielding passion for bringing people together, especially through the universal language of food.
A beloved chef, William’s career was marked by his deep love for creating meals that united friends and family around the table. His culinary skills were not just about the dishes he crafted, but about the joy and connection they inspired. Whether in the bustling kitchen or sharing a quiet meal, William’s compassionate and affectionate personality shone brightly, making every moment special for those fortunate enough to share it with him.
William's journey began in earnest when he graduated from Freedom High School, a milestone that set the foundation for a life rich in dedication and love. A devout Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he carried his enthusiasm and team spirit in all aspects of his life, inspiring those around him with his genuine excitement and zest.
He leaves behind a loving family who were central to his life. His devoted wife, Liana Ervin, stood by his side with unwavering love and support. His daughter, Gabriella Ervin, who along with his two cherished grandchildren, Jonah and Veda, gave him immense pride and happiness. William was also an integral part of a larger family tapestry, including his sisters Rhonda Crisp (Jesse), Nina Ervin, Leslie Ervin, and Cher Ervin. His life was further enriched by the many cousins, nieces, and nephews who were touched by his generous spirit.
Friends and family will gather to honor William’s memory at Shiloh A.M.E. Church, located at 1323 North Powerhouse Road in Morganton, North Carolina.
