Mr. Victor Ray Scott was born February 23, 1958 to the late Ramyond Scott Jr. and Lucy O'Neil Scott in Burke County.  He departed this earthly life on Sunday March 26, 2023 at his residence in Benson, NC.  He was formerly of Morganton, but lived in the Raleigh-Durham area for 44 years.  He worked at EECO in Raleigh for 22 years.  Victor attended Glen Alpine Elementary and Junior High Schools and Freedom High School; he was of the Baptist Faith.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Kathy Scott, nephew Richard Scott (Scottie), and niece Shannon Scott.

Left to mourn his transition but honor his precious memories of life are his sisters Eloise O'Neil Berry and Lynn Scott of Morganton, Frances King (Jeff) of Union Mills, NC; brother Raymond Scott III (Paulette) of Durham; aunt Faye O'Neil Carpenter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Victor was a very quiet and loving man.  The Scott, Berry, and O'Neil families have lost a gentle giant.  We love you Victor.

A celebration of life will be held Monday April 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Chambers Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Carpenter serving as the eulogist; interment will follow in the McElrath Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
