Vera Kay
Mckesson
October 23, 1951 – February 14, 2024
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me.
John 14: 1
Ms. Vera Kay McKesson, age 72, of Marion, North Carolina, closed her eyes to a world of pain and suffering and entered eternal rest with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. She was born on October 23, 1951 to Mattie Lee McKesson Bomar.
Kay passionately collected angel figurines and antique, vintage, and modern dolls. She loved listening to gospel music which was evident in her extensive collection of Old School Gospel on CDs and cassettes. She was a member of Addie's Chapel United Methodist Church, where she faithfully served until her health declined.
Preceding her in death, was her Mother Mattie McKesson Bomar. Kay is survived by her twin brother W. Ray McKesson (Phyllis) and her baby brother Nathan L. Bomar both of Marion, N. C. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A homegoing celebration will be held Thursday February 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Addie's Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Walter Pegues serving as the eulogist; interment will follow at the McDowell Cemetery. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service.
Flowers are greatly appreciated and accepted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to:
