It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Steven Charles Patterson, who peacefully left us on November 7, 2024 at the age of 43. Steven was born on March 24, 1981, to Aileen Patterson and Warren Caldwell in Los Angeles, California. At the age of 2, Steven moved with his family to Morganton, North Carolina, where he would grow up and spend much of his life.
Steven was a quiet and reserved individual, often keeping to himself but always thoughtful in his actions. He completed his schooling in the Burke County Public School System and later earned his GED. He had a remarkable talent for computers and technology, and he loved exploring new ways to solve problems and bring ideas to life. Steven also had a passion for music, which he enjoyed creating for fun in his own time and shared it with close family and friends. While Steven was not one for the spotlight, his gentle nature, kindness, and quiet presence left a lasting impact on those who knew him. He will be remembered fondly by his family and close friends for his generosity and the deep care he showed in his own way.
He is survived by his mother Aileen Patterson(Danny), father, Warren Caldwell(Debra), his sisters Sandra Crawford(Curtis), Angela Patterson(Dwight), Marquetta Caldwell and Charlett Gridine. His brothers, Terrance Patterson, Warren Caldwell and Phillip Williams(Nicole). The love of his life , Amber Whistnant and his four children; Shyann, Kiree, Dason, and Miyah. He is also survived by his grandson Ahmiir White and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Steven was preceded in death by his grandmothers Rochelle Baker and Emma Caldwell, his grandfather Earnest Caldwell. His aunts Linda Wilkerson and Gwenda Caldwell. His nephew Laqun Johnson and great niece Olivia Davis-Patterson.
Steven will be remembered with love and affection, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. Steven Patterson will be held Friday November 15, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Corpening Memorial Chapel of McCain Funeral Home & Cremations; the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private viewing for immediate family only will take place on Friday at 11:00 a.m. until 12:55 p.m. There will NOT BE A PUBLIC VIEWING.
