Roddell (Rodney) Dixon age 59, of Lenoir NC, passed away on November 14th, 2024 at The Greens at Hickory. He was born on November 13th, 1965, in Lenoir to Roddell Dixon Sr. and Evelyn Davis Dixon. Rodney was a graduate of West Caldwell High School. He was known for his quick wit, sense of humor and love of the outdoors. H e had a passion for gun collecting, hunting, good music and was a talented marksman. His love for his family and friends brought joy not only to his life but also to those around him. He is survived by his mother Evelyn Dixon (Derrick) Reynolds, Grandmother Reather Ervin, a son Marcus Dixon, daughter Daineze Manako, brother Kevin (Tomica) Dixon, sister Rita Dixon, stepbrother Julian Reynolds, stepsister Monivia Jones, nephew Devan (Kaitlyn) Mackey, niece Heavan Dixon and nephew Zarian Dixon. Rodney also has 2 grandchildren, maternal Aunt Kelly Ervin, Symanthia "Gene" Robertson, paternal Aunt Teresa (Eddie) Johnson, Uncles Arthur Dixon Jr, and Uncle Bobby Dixon. Rodney has a host of great nieces, nephews, cousin, extended family, along with many friends who loved, adored him and will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his father Roddell Dixon Sr., maternal Grandfather Bud Davis, Step Grandfather Godfrey Ervin, paternal Grandfather Arthur Dixon Sr, Grandmother Susie Dixon, maternal Uncle Jeff Ervin, paternal Uncle Harry Dula, Uncle Terry Dixon, maternal Aunt Emma Dixon, Susan Dixon Dula and Sylvia Dixon.
A Home-going service will be held on Monday November 18th at First Church of God of Lenoir starting at 12pm at 1020 Broadway St NW, Lenoir, NC 28645. The family will receive friends one hour before service. Rodney lived his life on his own terms with laughter, love and a fierce protective spirit for the ones he loved. He will be deeply missed and will remain in our hearts forever.
