Robert Lee "Pat" Patterson passed away peacefully in Morganton NC, October 7th 2025 at the age of 74. Robert was born October 8th, 1950, in Lenior, North Carolina to his parents Luey and Mabel Patterson. Robert graduated from Highbriten High School and entered the US Army. Robert committed heroically to army life and helped young men and women also experience the army through his job as an Army recruiter. After his Honorable retirement from the army, he continued his love through truck driving from 1994 to 2005. Loving every minute. Robbie had a remarkable gift for bringing laughter and joy to everyone around him. Known for his strong personality, he was a devoted family man and a true jack of all trades. He loved working on cars, sharing stories from his time in the military, and life on the road trucking. Always ready to lend a helping hand in any way he could, Robbie's warm and magnetic presence made others feel welcomed and valued. His strength, humor, and heart left a lasting impression on all who had the honor of knowing him. He is preceded in death by his parents: Luey and Mabel Patterson; sisters: Reba Speights, Hattie Patterson, and Justine Patterson; brothers: Earl Patterson, Lester (Luck) Patterson, and Lewis Patterson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Sandra Patterson, of the home; daughters: Tenesha Lynch (Ugande) of Hickory, Bianca Hill (Christopher) of Morganton; sister: Sandra Connolly of New Mexico; and brother: Lawrence Patterson of Morganton; grandchildren: Kaila Hubbs, Alexis Hubbs, Jaelyn Youngblood (Dontavist), Xhaviar Lynch, Braylen Hill, and Skyla Hill; great-grandchildren: Paris Harshaw, Kaenon Downing, Grayson Coleman, Skyland Lipscomb, Kaydren Johnson, Isaish Lipscomb, Kyro Johnson, and Kehlani Lynch.

A Receiving of Friends will take place on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM in the Corpening Memorial Chapel of McCain Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 PM, followed by interment at Green Hill Church Cemetery in Lenoir.
