Miss Rikeah Nashea Johnson , 23 and Baby Yannis Ray Johnson (born 7/23/2022, 7 weeks), of 1711 Vanderbilt Court, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. Rikeah Nashea Johnson, daughter of Richard and Imogene Johnson of Graham, NC, was born January 27, 1999 in Colorado Springs, CO.
At an early age Rikeah joined and was baptized at Ebenezer United Church of Christ, Burlington, NC where she was a member of the Youth Choir, Youth Ministry, Youth Bible Study and she also participated in Sunday School. "Keah" as she was affectionately called by many, attended Alamance County Schools, and she was a graduate of The Burlington School. There she excelled academically. She sang in the school choir and played on the soccer and volleyball teams. She attended UNC Charlotte and Alamance Community College. She loved music and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She worked for Petro Travel Center in Mebane, NC as a Customer Representative. She was affectionately attached to her dogs, Jazz and Lexi.
Rikeah and Yannis are survived by her parents (grandparents) Richard and Imogene Johnson; great grandfather, Lewis Rutherford; a paternal aunt; a paternal uncle; eight maternal aunts and five maternal uncles; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Yannis was so loved by Rikeah and she took him everywhere she went. She was so blessed and he became the center of her life. They were always seen together and now they are together eternally.
The homegoing celebration for Rikeah and Yannis will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Ebenezer Church of Christ in Burlington, with Dr. Larry E. Covington officiating and delivering the eulogy. Funeral arrangements in Burlington are entrusted to Alamance Funeral Service, LLC.
The interment will take place Saturday September 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at McElrath Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery. The committal service will be livestreamed on the McCain Funeral Home & Cremations Facebook Page; the link is found below:
