Obituary

Psalm 139:13-14: "For You created my inmost being, You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made".

"Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not."

"We will hold you in our hearts until we can hold you again in heaven."

Quincy Alexander Johnson entered this world on May 3, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, and though his time with us was profoundly brief, the mark he left on the hearts of those who loved him will never fade. On that very day, Quincy was called home, resting peacefully in the arms of God, surrounded by the overwhelming love of his dear family.

"Our sweet baby boy Quincy Alexander, you completed our family our fifth final blessing!! You were perfect in every way, from your little button nose to your tiny hands and feet. Oh how we will long to watch you grow up and see your little personality evolve so uniquely as your siblings. Most people go through their life only dreaming of angels but we had the pleasure of holding YOU our perfect little angel. We miss you and will long to have you here with us but, we know you were too perfect for this earth. Until we meet at the pearly gates you will forever be in our hearts and all around us in everything we do! We love you to the moon and back sweet boy! I carried you every second of your life and I will love you every second of mine

 Love, Mom!!

Love in Every Tear

O precious, tiny, sweet little one, You will always be to me.

So perfect, pure, and innocent. Just as you were meant to be.

We dreamed of you and of your life, And all that it would be.

We waited and longed for you to come. And join our family.

We never had the chance to play. To laugh, to rock, to wiggle.

We long to hold you, touch you now. And listen to you giggle.

I’ll always be your mother, He’ll always be your dad.

You will always be our child, The child that we had.

But now you’re gone…but yet you’re here

We’ll sense you everywhere. You are our sorrow and our joy,

There’s love in every tear. Just know our love goes deep and strong

We’ll forget you never The child we had, but never had

And yet will have forever!

Though we may not have had the blessing of watching Quincy grow and experience all that life offers, his presence was a shining beacon of love and connection. From the moment he was born, Quincy was enveloped in the profound and unwavering love of his parents, Ashley and Dwight Johnson, and his beloved siblings—Haven Nicole Johnson, Kobe Alexander Johnson, Kai Alexander Johnson, and Harlem Alexander Johnson. Their tender embrace, the warmth of their hearts, is where Quincy knew nothing but pure affection and care.

Quincy was cherished deeply by his grandparents as well—Jeff and Jamie Gladden, Dwight Alexander Johnson Sr., Stephanie Louise Pearson, and Myra Annette Cline—who hold his memory close in quiet, loving remembrance. His extended family—Howard Pearson, Briannah Cline, Austin Gladden, Nakara Berry, Trevor Propst, Darian Clark, Stephen Pearson, Ashley Johnson, Eddie Ray Gladdin, along with Lizzie and Wesley Patterson—also carry his spirit gently within their hearts.

While his time on earth was fleeting, Quincy Alexander Johnson’s impact is immeasurable. He has become a symbol of love’s enduring strength and a reminder that even the shortest lives can leave the most lasting impressions. In every shared memory, in every whispered prayer, and in every quiet moment, Quincy will always be with us, a light shining softly and eternally.

So Go and Run Free

So go and run free with the angels

Dance around the golden clouds

For the lord has chosen you to be with him

And we should feel nothing but proud

Although he has taken you from us

And our pain a lifetime will last

Your memory will never escape us

But make us glad for the time we did have

Your face will always be hidden

Deep inside our hearts

Each precious moment you gave us

Shall never, ever depart

So go and run free with the angels

As they sing so tenderly

And please be sure to tell them

To take good care of you for me
