Obituary

Primadonna Maria Jones of Morganton, NC was born on July 10, 1968.  She passed away on April 23, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and quiet strength. She was the cherished daughter of Connie Ervin Caldwell, with whom she shared a bond that time, distance, nor hardship could ever shake.  She was a 1986 graduate of Freedom High School.  She received her BA degree in Sociology from UNC Greensboro.  After college she served 4 years in the US Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician.  After serving her country, she worked as a Correctional Officer and later became a Flight Attendant with US Airways for almost 10 years.

Prima was a kind soul, she never met a stranger. She had a knack for storytelling and always welcomed a spirited conversation. She loved to listen to House music and dance, was an avid reader, political news expert.  Most importantly she was the primary caretaker to her sister Adrie.  Prima was a lover of all things family. She cherished her mother, brothers and sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. She held fond memories of spending time traveling visiting family across the country.  Primadonna lived her life with a heart that was almost too big for this world—loving fiercely, giving freely, and caring deeply for others, often at the expense of herself. She had a tenderness that wrapped around everyone she met, making them feel seen and safe.

Though she never claimed the title, Primadonna lived with the soul of an adventurer. Whether navigating life's storms or seeking beauty in the ordinary, she faced each chapter with a kind of quiet bravery. Her heart carried wounds that never fully healed, yet she continued to move forward with grace and determination. Those who knew her best saw in her a strength she rarely recognized in herself.  Primadonna was a storyteller—an artful weaver of memory, humor, and wisdom. Her tales brought people together, made them laugh, and sometimes cry, but always left them feeling connected.  She was deeply competent, endlessly capable, and someone you could count on without hesitation. Still, she often questioned her own worth, not realizing how truly remarkable she was to those around her. In the eyes of her loved ones, she was a woman of quiet power—stronger than she ever gave herself credit for.  Primadonna Jones leaves behind a life that touched many and a memory that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her best. She was her mother's girl, a fierce lover of people, and a beacon of unspoken strength.

Prima was preceded in death by the love her life, her mama Connie Ervin Caldwell.  She missed her mama so much after her passing in February 2024.  She leaves her sisters Kim Logan and husband Pastor George K Logan and Adrie Jones.  Brothers Bradley Ervin, Richard Jones and Shah (Kisha) Lipsey all of Morganton and nieces, nephews,  Uncle Harry (Julia) Ervin, Aunts Margaret Pearson and Jeanette Norwood and a hosts of relatives and friends throughout her time in college, military and work.

She will be missed dearly, remembered deeply, and loved always.
