Obituary

Phil Altas Kincaid was born on April 29, 1952, to Claude Phillip Kincaid and Shirley Juanita Johnson Kincaid. He attended East Drexel Colored School during his early years until integration took place. Following this, he excelled at Drexel High School and graduated with confidence.  After completing high school, Phil joined Broughton Hospital as a custodian, where he served diligently for many years until his retirement. While he may not have been affiliated with any formal organization, Phil was a dedicated servant to his community. Whether it was cutting grass, moving furniture, or washing cars, you could always rely on him to be there, demonstrating what it truly means to serve others and embody the values of God.  Phil was a dedicated lifelong member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, attending services every Sunday without exception until he fell ill. His unwavering commitment to his community and his faith clearly demonstrates the strength of his character.

He is preceded in death by his father, Claude Phillip Kincaid. He leaves behind a strong legacy through his son, Phillip Javon Kincaid. His mother, Shirley Kincaid of Valdese, along with his brother, Audwin Allen Kincaid (Bev) of Morganton, and his sisters, Marculette Chambers (Gary Dean) of Morganton and Teresa Bratton of Thomasville; aunts: Maseline Berry of Valdese, Margaret Ann Berry of Germany, and Barbara Kincaid of Morganton.
