Paul Wesley
Williams
August 23, 1947 – March 3, 2026
Paul Wesley Williams, 78, of Morganton, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on March 3, 2026. He was born in Morganton, North Carolina, on August 23, 1947, to the late Lennie Williams Sr. and Ilar Ervin Williams. Paul was the thirteenth child in a large and loving family.
Paul received his early education at Olive Hill Elementary, Mountain View Elementary, and Morganton High School. Throughout his working years, he was employed at Broughton Hospital and Remarco Marble Industry. Paul spent his life in the family home in Morganton, where he remained a steady and familiar presence to many.
A man of strong faith, Paul was deeply devoted to his church, Mission AME Church. There he faithfully served as a trustee and as a member of the Johnson/Ervin Missionary Society. Many lovingly referred to him as the church's "Gate Keeper," a title that reflected both his dedication and his welcoming spirit.
Paul was preceded in death by his brothers Jodie Ervin, Charles Williams, William Henry "Chuck" Williams, Lennie Williams Jr., and Winfield Williams; and his sisters Ruthie Blair and Patsy Chapman Michaux.
He leaves to cherish his memory his brother Larry Williams; his sisters Bettye Harris, Callie Wallace, Linda Fleming, and Barbara Williams; along with a wide and loving circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Paul lived a quiet and humble life, yet his love for his family was loud and immeasurable. His presence was constant, and his kindness left lasting impressions on everyone who knew him.
