Ms. Pamela Tate, 62 of Marion, departed this life for eternity on Tuesday July 8, 2025, at Magnolia Lane Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Morganton. She was born on October 30, 1962, to Mary Tate and William Surratt. Pamela attended Freedom high school and went on to earn an associate's degree in medical coding and administration. She was a loyal Christian and attended several churches. She loved to spend time with friends and family, as well as enjoying festivities and dancing. Pamela had a passion for cooking and loved watching the younger generations of the family grow and find their ways. In addition to her parents, Pamela is preceded in death by her grandparents.

Left to mourn her loss but cherish her memory are her children: Michaell Gore of Morganton and Kasim Akeem Tate of Morganton; her siblings: Lula Penelope Patterson of California, Eleanor Frances Tate of Marion; William Tate (Yessenia) of Apex, NC, Priscilla Corpening, Jerry Donnell Surratt (Chunhwa) of Raleigh, and Sherry Yvette Surratt of Marion; Grandchildren: Malachi Jedediah Gore, Xavier James Flynn, Jovian Jeremiah Hall, and Kenyon Isaiah Flynn.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Ms. Pamela Tate will be held Saturday July 19, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the Corpening Memorial Chapel of McCain Funeral Home & Cremations, with Pastor LaTrese Lyerly serving as the eulogist; the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
