Mr. Michael Eugene Shipley, 63 of Morganton, traded his earthly sorrows for his eternal reward on Wednesday January 9, 2025 at his residence.  Born November 20, 1961 in Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Manley Eugene Shipley and the late Beatrice Rice Shipley.  He was united in holy matrimony to the former Joy Seagle, and through this, union five children were reared.  Michael was self-employed for many years as a scrapper and mechanic.  He absolutely loved vehicles, but most of all he loved his family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Crain.

Left to mourn his loss but cherish his precious memories are his wife Joy Shipley of the home; children: Michael L. Shipley (Lisa) of Marion, Natasha Acharya (Vivek) of Virginia, Kilisha Bridges (Colton) of Morganton, Johnathan Shipley of Morganton, and Thomas Shipley of Morganton; eight grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

The family of Mr. Michael Eugene Shipley will celebrate his life privately.  Let us continue to keep the Shipley and connected families in our thoughts and prayers.
