Mia Serena ("Ann") Vaughters,63 of Morganton, departed from this earthly life on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at UNC Health Blue Ridge. Born August 28, 1960 in Burke County, she was the daughter of the late James Vaughters and the late Bertha Wilkins Vaughters.  She was educated in the Burke County School System and upon graduation went on to earn her Bachelor's degree to become a substance abuse counselor for many years.  Ann attended St. Stephens Episcopal Church until her health began to decline.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Donna V. Brown and her husband Andre and Curtis Wilkins.

Left to mourn her loss but cherish her loving and precious memories is her beloved daughter Caitlin Pearson of the home; grandchildren Isaiah Davis, Brooklyn Brown, and Marleigh Brown; special nieces Dominique brown and Courtney Brown-Canty; nephew Andre Brown; great-nephew Zayden Canty, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The Vaughters family will gather for a celebration of life honoring the memory of Mia at a later date.  Let us continue to keep the Vaughters, Wilkins, and connected families in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
