Ms. Mattie Louise Brown, 71 of Morganton, transitioned from this earthly life on Thursday May 4, 2023 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Born February 7, 1952 at Landou Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of Laura Chambers Brown and the late Andrew William Brown. She graduated from Olney High School in Philadelphia and while attending, she was active in ROTC. Following high school she also served in the United States Army where she received an honorable discharge.

A Memorial Service honoring the life of Ms. Mattie Louise Brown will be held Tuesday May 9, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Corpening Memorial Chapel of McCain Funeral Home & Cremations; interment of the urn will follow at Olive Hill Cemetery.  Let us continue to keep the Brown and connected families in our thoughts and prayers.
