Mary Elizabeth Ervin was a radiant light—kind-hearted, spirited, and full of life.  Born in Morganton, North Carolina, on February 10, 1995, she brought joy and warmth to everyone who knew her. She passed away on July 4, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love.  Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Harriet Irene Davis Ervin and James H. Ervin Jr. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Vernice Davis, and her paternal grandparents, James and Evelynn Ervin.  She was the proud mother of four beautiful children: Ivyana, Iveah, Tiana, and Jacob. Her love for them was fierce and unconditional. Mary was never married, but her heart was overflowing with loyalty, laughter, and wild, unforgettable energy.

Also left to mourn her loss but cherish her memories are her brothers: Thomas Ervin and Terrell Ervin; sister: Tammy Johnson. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her deeply.  Mary lived boldly and loved fiercely. She believed in God and found comfort in her faith. She was sweet but strong, funny, and fearless—a unique soul who could lift a room with her smile or her wild stories. Mary lived without fear. She will be remembered always for her deep compassion, her free spirit, and the love she gave so freely.

A funeral service will be held Sunday July 13, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Corpening Memorial Chapel of McCain Funeral Home & Cremations with Pastor George Logan serving as the eulogist.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
