Our beloved Mrs. Margaret Lee Rutherford Conley, 85 of Glen Alpine, departed this earthly life for her eternal home on Wednesday July 31, 2024, at Amorem Hospice in Valdese.  Born July 7, 1935, in Burke County, she was the daughter of the late George Rutherford and the late Josephine Gardner Rutherford.  She faithfully worked for many years in manufacturing until her retirement.  Margaret, lovingly known as "Jitter Bug", was united in holy matrimony to the late Harold Conley (aka "Half a Pint") and to this union three daughters and one son were born.   In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, her son Tony Conley, great aunt Pearl Harbison (whom she affectionally called "Nana"), son in law Billy Bishop, and daughter in law Margaret F. Conley.

Left to mourn her loss but cherish her precious memories are her children: Rosa Oxendine (Eddie), Katherine "Nip" Bishop, Lisa "Lee Lee" Conley (Perry Johnson), and Harold Conley Jr. (Shane); grandchildren Tina Marie Bradshaw, Kenneth Reginald Johnson, Margaret Yvonne Johnson, Kelly Lashawn Johnson (aka "Muscles"), Christopher Deon Conley, and Delaney Junior Conley; great-grandchildren Elijah Onshawnta Sir Harold Johnson, Mariah Conley, Omarion Conley, Cameron Conley, Kelly Essie Rosalee Harper, Kyrie Conley, Zachary Isaiah Carson, Serenity Faith Johnson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Margaret Conley will be held Tuesday August 6, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Corpening Memorial Chapel of McCain Funeral Home & Cremations; interment will follow at the McElrath Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
