Lola Marie Fleming was born on December 6, 1957, in Morganton NC, to the late Charles Kenneth Fleming Sr. and Willa Ann Fleming. She lived a life filled with love, kindness, and service.

Lola loved and cherished by many. She loved her family deeply and helped everyone she could. She loved children and would feed anyone who entered her home. Lola knew everyone and never met a stranger. She worked for the North Carolina Department of Transportation for 30 years and genuinely enjoyed her career until her retirement.

Lola is preceded in death by her father: Charles Kenneth Fleming Sr., her sons, Brian Cash and Shawn Cash; and her stepson: James Brown Jr.

Those left to mourn her loss but cherish her memory include: her husband: James Brown Sr.; mother: Willa Fleming; daughters: Brandy Somerville, Ta'Shalia Norris (Tyler), and Yahmya Brown; step-children: Mitchell Brown, and Crystal Watkins; brother: Charles Fleming Jr.; sisters: Barbara Cole (Maurice), and Terry Fleming; aunt: Doris Fleming; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service celebrating the life and memory of Mrs. Lola M. Fleming will take place Saturday January 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Corpening Memorial Chapel of McCain Funeral Home & Cremations; interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
