Linda Joyce
Mcclure
March 16, 1951 – August 12, 2024
Ms. Linda Joyce McClure, 73 of Newton, NC, traded her earthly sorrows for Heavenly joy on Monday August 12, 2024, at Amorem-Forelines in Hudson. Born March 16, 1951, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Willie Ray McClure and Jennie Ruth Ballew McClure. She was a member of the Baptist faith, but most importantly, she loved the Lord with all her heart, mind, and strength. Linda was a strong advocate for the needs of others, always exhibiting a selfless, giving attitude and an unconditional Christ like love for people. Her personality could light up a room with joy, laughter, and great fun. Linda enjoyed dancing and the great outdoors, especially gardening and fishing. She absolutely loved her "bonus child", her Pomeranian affectionately named Bear. Additionally, we all knew Linda as a master shopaholic! Her humility and friendly nature caused her to never meet a stranger. Linda's life can be surmised with the following verse found in Matthew 5:16: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Her passion in life was to be a lighthouse, because a lighthouse offers hope, direction, and a beacon of light in the midst of darkness. Linda's hope was that others wouldn't see her, but rather see the light of Christ inside of her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Jonathan Paul Waters, and siblings Sherry, Johnny, Jimmy, Gean, Beth, and Sandy.
Left to mourn her loss but cherish her precious memories is her daughter Angela Wise of White Springs, FL; sisters Doris Brown and Kathy Johnson; brothers Terry Michael McClure, Charles Patrick McClure, and Danny Jonathan McClure; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will celebrate the life of Ms. McClure privately. Let us continue to keep the McClure and connected families in our thoughts and prayers.
