Linda Louise McElrath Hardy, Heathe daughter of the late William McElrath and Rachel Bryant McElrath was born October 14, 1950 in Morganton, North Carolina; she was the fifth of eight children, a member of McElrath Chapel AME Church. She is preceded in death by a sister, Lillie McElrath and a brother John McElrath. Following High School graduation from Glen Alpine High School, she married Morris Hardy to this union one daughter (Marci Williams (Jacques) was born. After the death of her first husband she married Walter Heathe to this union one son (Kenyatta) was born. Linda worked as a meat cutter at Pathmark, New York City while a resident there. She moved to Knightdale, North Carolina in 2017 to be with her beloved daughter, Marci Williams and Bella.
She leaves to cherish her memory 2 brothers, Buddy James (Lorene), Ivan Ray (Sara) all of Morganton, North Carolina, 3 sisters, Angelia Rose McElrath Russell Frazier (Reverend Robert), Charleston, West Virginia, Stephanie Anne McElrath Baker (Edgar) Alfreda McElrath, all of Morganton, North Carolina, Bella, grand children Myles, Julian (Ke*nydra), great grandchild Princeton, 13 Nieces, 7 Nephews and many other relatives and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held Friday April 4, 2025 at 12:00 noon at McElrath Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Robert J. Frazier Sr. serving as the eulogist; interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
