Jordan Marquis
Michaux
December 24, 1987 – June 19, 2025
Jordan Marquis Michaux, age 37, passed away unexpectedly on June 19, 2025. Born in Lenoir, North Carolina, Jordan was a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend whose presence touched the lives of many. He grew up attending Hood's Chapel United Church of God, where he found joy in playing the drums as part of the church's music ministry. A proud graduate of West Caldwell High School, Jordan was a gifted athlete who excelled in both football and basketball, leaving a lasting impression on teammates, coaches, and classmates alike.
Jordan was known for his vibrant personality, sharp mind, and great sense of humor. He was deeply intelligent, quick-witted, and thoughtful—someone who could hold a meaningful conversation and leave you laughing all in the same breath. He also had a deep love for the open road and worked as a truck driver, a career that suited his independent nature and adventurous spirit.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ronnie Banner, Alfred Dula, George Witherspoon, and Maryann Boyce.
He is survived by his loving mother, Tira Michaux, and father, John Witherspoon. He leaves behind a large and devoted family, including his siblings: John Michaux, Terron Michaux, Tijuan Corpening, Ketwaun Wilfong, Dishaun Witherspoon, Danasia Witherspoon, Jalen Witherspoon, and Jada Witherspoon.
Jordan is also remembered by his grandmother Bessie Banner and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and close friends who will deeply miss his joyful spirit, kind heart, brilliant mind, and unwavering loyalty.
His memory will live on in all those who loved him.
