Jessie Kincaid
Yount
January 4, 1948 – November 10, 2025
Jessie Kincaid Yount was born on January 4, 1948, in Morganton, North Carolina, to the late Clara Michaux and Melvin Kincaid. On Monday, November 10, 2025, Jessie peacefully transitioned from this earthly life at her home, surrounded by love.
Jessie received her early education in the Orange County School System and was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 1966. Known for her dedication and strong work ethic, Jessie carried those values throughout her life in everything she did.
She was an avid bowler and a longtime member of the local bowling league, where she enjoyed fellowship, friendly competition, and laughter with her teammates. Jessie bowled faithfully for over 50 years, retiring from the sport in 2018. Her love for the sport and the friendships she built there brought her great joy.
Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Yount; her parents, Clara Michaux and Melvin Kincaid; her sister, Rosetta Rigsbee, and her brothers, Larry Walden, and George Kincaid.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving son, Juan Kincaid of New Orleans; her devoted daughters, Anetia "Neecie" Corpening of Lenoir and Tameka Parks of Lenoir; her caring brothers, Roger Kincaid (Gayle) of Morganton and Scotty Kincaid (Louise) of Hillsborough; her sister, Princess Walden of High Point; and her brother-in-law, Robert Rigsbee of Newport News, VA
She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Chris Corpening of Lenoir and Amaya Kincaid of New Orleans; her great-granddaughter, Madison Corpening of Lenoir. Jessie's love continues through her six nieces, six nephews, and a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Jessie will be remembered for her warm spirit, and unwavering love for her family. Her life was one of grace, compassion, and joy, a beautiful reflection of a woman who truly knew how to live, love, and laugh.
