Jerome Harshaw, a devoted family man, passed away on April 7, 2026, at UNC Health Caldwell of Lenoir. Born on May 7, 1977, in Caldwell County, Jerome lived a life marked by commitment and hard work, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

During his working years, Jerome contributed significantly to the manufacturing industry, where his diligence and skill were highly regarded. His career was a testament to his strong work ethic and his ability to face challenges with resilience and dedication.

Jerome's life was deeply enriched by his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ashley Harshaw, his five children: Sophia Harshaw, Dy'Najah Harshaw, Jerome Harshaw Jr., Jahlil Harshaw, and Jayceon Harshaw. Jerome also cherished the close bond he shared with his father, Jimmie Harshaw, as well as his brothers James Ira Harshaw and Martin Christopher Wilson. His sisters, Lisa Owens and Crystal Gladney, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, will carry forward his memory and spirit.

Jerome was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca A. Harshaw, whose memory he held dear throughout his life.

Throughout his years, Jerome was known for the warmth and generosity he extended to those around him. His legacy is one of steadfast devotion to family, a commendable work ethic, and a compassionate heart.

As we reflect on Jerome’s life, we honor the person he was and the profound impact he had on his family and community. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all those fortunate enough to have known him.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. Jerome E. Harshaw will take place Thursday April 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at The Life Center Church with Pastor Dr. Terry Hunt serving as eulogist; interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Harshaw will lie in repose for public viewing Wednesday April 15, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Corpening Memorial Chapel of McCain Funeral Home & Cremations.
