Mr. Jackson Harper Corpening was born May 10, 1950 in Caldwell County to the late Jason Corpening and the late Frances Harper.  He departed this earthly life on Sunday July 2, 2023 at Mission Hospital.  Jackson was educated in the Caldwell County School System and graduated from Lenoir High School.  He also served his country in the United States Army from 1970 until 1972, receiving an honorable discharge.  He furthered his education by attending Caldwell Community College, receiving his Associate Degree in Applied Science.   Jackson was a dedicated worker for the United States Postal Service, retiring after 40 years of service.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings.

Left to mourn his loss but cherish his precious memories is his daughter Tiffany Corpening of Lenoir; sons Mark Davis and Brian Keith Norwood both of Lenoir; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held Saturday July 8, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at First Church of God in Lenoir; interment will follow at Corpening Town Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
