Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Frances Thomas Parker, age 77, of Stony Point (formerly of Morganton), who went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at her residence.

Frances was born on August 3, 1947, to the late Isaac Johnson and Ella Odessa Kincaid Johnson. She graduated from Olive Hill High School in 1965. Frances was a faithful and active member of Hartland Church of God for 40 years, where she served devotedly in various roles including choir member, Sunday School teacher, head of the kitchen committee, head of the usher board, and actively assisted with mission trips. She was most recently an attending member of Third Creek Baptist Church in Stony Point. Frances had an enduring passion for bringing her family and community together, especially through her love of cooking and baking.

She retired as a manager from Shadowline Corp after 48 dedicated years. Frances enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, sewing, singing, and generously volunteered her time with Relay for Life at the American Cancer Society for over 10 years. As a cancer survivor, Frances deeply believed in Relay for Life's mission—a global movement dedicated to honoring loved ones, raising awareness, and taking action towards a future free from cancer.

Frances leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Delma Parker; children, Carlton Thomas (Felicia) of Morganton, and Allen Thomas (Marcella) of Phoenix, AZ; siblings, Leonia Dula (James) of Lenoir, Lorraine Johnson Boston (Claude) of Morganton, Wayeman Johnson (Carrie) of Morganton, and Annette Pearce of Hampton, GA; grandchildren, Ryan Erwin of Charlotte, Jasmine Rainey (Anthony) of Newark, CA, Cameron Thomas of Fairfield, CA, Jordan Thomas of Charlotte, Andrew Thomas of Morganton, Josh Castro, Alek Thomas, and Alana Thomas, all of Phoenix, AZ; great-grandchildren, Selena Perez of Fairfield, CA, Drew Moses of Charlotte, Jamie Rainey of Newark, CA, and Josiah Castro of Peoria, AZ.

Frances was preceded in death by her former husband, Eugene Thomas, and her beloved sisters Josephine Chambliss and Priscilla Perkins.

Frances Thomas Parker's memory and legacy of love, faith, and dedicated service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
