Fannie Gertrude "Teenie" Parson, 79, of Lenoir, NC, passed away peacefully at Cambridge House on October 29, 2024. Teenie was born in Caldwell County to the late Wilbert and Carrie Witherspoon Caldwell on April 8, 1945. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Azail "Kelly" Parsons. She attended Freedman High School in Lenoir, NC. Following high school, she moved to Texas, where she pursued a nursing degree. Though the details of her studies are unclear, her passion for caregiving was evident in all aspects of her life. Teenie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt whose warmth and humor were as boundless as her love for her family. Known for her quick wit and bold spirit, she was never afraid to share exactly what was on her mind, bringing laughter and honest wisdom to those around her. Her faith was a central part of her life, and she faithfully served as the pianist at Slade's Chapel, bringing her joy of music to others. She was also a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, where she was cherished for her dedication and vibrant personality.
Left to cherish her memory are one son, Gary (Donna) Norwood of Fayetteville NC, and two daughters, Rhodda (Darryl) Medley of Granite Falls, NC and Sherry Setzer of Fayetteville NC; two brothers, Wilbert "Buddy" Caldwell of Lenoir NC and Joey Somers of Wilkesboro, NC; one sister, Julia Harris of Morganton, NC; one God child, Joaniquia Dula of Lenoir, NC; eight grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
Receiving of family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 9th at 1:00 PM with the Celebration of Life service beginning at 2 PM at The Life Center with the Dr. Reverend Terry Hunt officiating and Pastor Darryl Medley rendering the eulogy. Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
