Sister Fannie Ann Gray Dickey was born in Rutherford County on August 27, 1947 to the late Sherman Gray and the late Ruth Logan. She departed her earthly body on March 13, 2024 at Amorem Hospice in Valdese. She was educated in the Rutherford County School System at New Hope School and Carver High School. Though she did not graduate, she remained a supporter of education until her death. Sister Fannie was a faithful member of St. John Church of God Ministries where she sang on the Spiritual Choir, served as Secretary of the Sunday School, Vacation Bible School Coordinator, Pastor's Aid, Missionary, Altar Workers, and Kitchen Staff. Fannie was an employee at Leviton Manufacturing for forty-seven years. She was also previously employed at Carolina Shoe. Sister Fannie was previously married to Eugene Dickey and to this union four children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Tracey Dickey, sister Nancy Ross, brothers Scotty Logan, John Logan, and Jerry Logan, and great-grandson Kyrie Bulluck.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved daughters: Cynthia Watkins (Greg), Tiffany Dickey, and Gloria Dickey; her beloved grandchildren: Justin Summers (Renee), Ashante' Dickey, Jazzmin Dickey, Shakari Watkins, and Jalyn Watkins; great-grandchildren Markaylah, Alajah, Marchella, Haylen, Nyrah, Marvel, Jetson, Klover, Milah, Healani, Yahniah, Conner, Tyler, Ezra, and Amari; brothers Doug Logan (Vickie), William Logan (Brenda), Larry Logan (Greta), and numerous cousins, friends, and church family.
A homegoing celebration in honor of Ms. Fannie Ann Dickey will take place Wednesday March 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Church of God Ministries with Pastor Diane Gooden serving as the eulogist; interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
