Elizabeth Sherridan "Anne" Lipsey of Morganton, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Friday July 5th 2024.  She was born to Reverend George M. Lipsey and Elizabeth K. Lipsey.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her eldest brother George M. Lipsey Jr. as well as a sister that died at birth.  Anne was a member of Slades Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church which her father pastored for many years.  During her lifetime, Anne was employed at Alba Waldensian and the North Carolina School for the Deaf.  Anne was loving and touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.  She was famous for her cooking and expressed her love by sharing meals with others.  Especially her cheeseburgers, hot wings, homemade yeast rolls, fresh squeezed lemonade, homemade pound cakes, as well as various other dishes.  She attended Brevard College on an opera scholarship which allowed her to showcase and share her musical talents.  Anne loved life and life will not be the same without her.

Anne is survived by her beloved family, who will continue to share her memories, her twin daughters Annette and Lynette Lipsey; four grandchildren: Shemaya Logan, Armani Martin Lipsey, Legacy Lipsey, and Amirah Martin Lipsey; one great-grandson Kazlyn Davis; brothers John and Ben Lipsey, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held Sunday July 14, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Slades Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church; interment will follow at Olive Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service.
