Darryl Rashan Fogle, son of (the late) Edward (Joe) Fogle, and Geraldine Young Fogle, was born on November 9, 1961 in Brooklyn, New York. He received his formal education in the Brooklyn public school system and continued his education receiving formal training and complete aircraft electrician training in the United States Army. He earned an associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology.
During high school, Darryl served in the United States Air Force Reserves and switched to the United States Army active duty until 1994. He received various honors and awards including the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Panama), an Army Service Ribbon, an Army Lapel Button, a M16 Marksman Badge, and a host of other buttons and badges.
On December 31, 1990, in Monterey, California, he was united in marriage to Nicole Corpening, and from their union two children were born. He served as an aviation electrician in the United States Army. He then became an independent contractor for retail merchandising setting up product and electronic
On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Darryl departed this earthly life in Newton, N.C. at Carolina Caring Catawba Valley Hospice House. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Nicole and his five children: Shaquan Fogle (Stephanie) of Conover, N.C., Nikarah Fogle of Greensboro, N.C., Diante Fogle (Tahjamare) of Japan, DeKayla Fogle, and DaeChan Fogle of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren: Rilynd, Raiden, Tymberlyn, and Joshia. One brother: Kenyatta Fogle (Anderia) of Brooklyn, New York, two sisters: Donna Fogle of Yonkers, New York, and Cathy Fogle of Charlotte, N.C. His mother-in-law: Denease Corpening, his father-in-law: Clyde Corpening; Two sisters-in-laws: Nikay Corpening and Anderia Fogle. Four Aunts: Naomi Avinger of Rosedale, New York; Verna McFarland of Columbia, SC; Mary Young of Staten Island, N.Y.; Ollie Young of Holly Hill, S.C., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and close friends.
A receiving of Friends will be held on Monday, August 10th, 2026 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM in the Corpening Memorial Chapel of McCain Funeral Home, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will take place at approximately 2:00 PM at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
The service will be livestreamed on the McCain Funeral Home Facebook and YouTube Pages.
