The Lasting Memory of Beatrice Mae Love Dula
Lenoir, NC
Beatrice Mae Love Dula, 98, peacefully transitioned from earth to glory, Saturday night, December 3, 2022, at Solace Hospice Care in Asheville, NC. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas in Tarrant County on January 21, 1924, to the late Mack Arthur Love and Mamie Nancy Jane Parks Love. In addition to her parents, Beatrice was also preceded in death by her husband, Hanibal Maynard Dula; son, Larry Maynard Dula; great-granddaughter, Aijia Lizhae Dula; brothers, Timothy Arthur Love and George Washington Love; sisters, Georgia Love Tolbert, Mable Brown, Elmore Walker, Gertrude McAdams and Marion Love Davis.
Beatrice dedicated her entire life to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a long-standing member of Dulatown Presbyterian Church USA. She served the community as a member of the Hickory Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Beatrice was also an educator in the Caldwell County School system as well as contributing decades of experience as director of multiple childcare centers. She was a mother to many; her love was unconditional.
Beatrice leaves cherished memories to her three daughters, Deborah O. Walton of Newnan, GA, Sonya D. Bacote (Tommy) of N. Chesterfield, VA and Princess D. Anderson (James) of Morganton, NC; two sons, Donald Dula (Rosa) of Raleigh, NC and Hannibal K. Dula of Lenoir, NC; six sisters, Verda B. Pipkin of Ferris, TX, Ruby Lee Walker of Glenn Heights, TX, Naomi Lewis of Grand Prairie, TX , Bessie Vaughn of Houston, TX, Ila Jean Love of Mansfield, TX and Lois Dula of Lenoir, NC; extended family members includes 5 daughters, Marie Phillips, Nell Harrington, Angela Battle and Martha June all of Lenoir, NC and Tonya Sims-Hill of Douglasville, GA; two sons, Michael Thomas of Morganton, NC and David H. Sims II of Halifax, NC; fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Celebration of Beatrice's Life will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 – 1:00pm at Dulatown Presbyterian Church USA, 1537 Miller Hill Road, Lenoir, NC. The receiving of family and friends will be held from 12 noon to 12:55pm. Reverend Julian Warner, Presiding.
