Azyan Antwan Dorian Ervin was born on February 16th, 2009, to Eliza Ervin (Burgess). Azyan received his elementary education at Forest Hill Elementary School, where he spent a lot of time on the field playing football and soccer. Azyan also enjoyed Boy Scouts, youth group, camps, and more. He journeyed on to middle school at Walter Johnson where he was very active and involved in karate. Most recently he was a sophomore taking honors classes at Freedom High School surrounded by friends.

Azyan was a well-mannered, kind, friendly young man who loved his family. He loved spending time with his friends, video games, and helping others. Azyan had a loving spirit and was known for his politeness and for being "bright"! Azyan especially enjoyed his family's annual trips to Myrtle Beach, splashing in the waves and hanging out with his cousin, Sirron.

Azyan was loving and surrounded by love. Azyan leaves behind his mother Eliza Burgess, and stepfather James Burgess. He leaves behind his special auntie Toni and uncle Stacy, His 'Paw Paw' James Fleming and 'Maw Maw' Linda Fleming, his 'Paw Paw' Tyron and 'Nana' Sarnya Ervin. He also leaves his siblings Semaj, Bella and Ja'Qualene (Matthew). He has a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends from school, former teammates, girlfriend, and others that will miss him dearly.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. Azyan Ervin will take place Sunday October 27, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Gaston Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Diane E. Conley presiding and Sis. Naomi Smith serving as eulogist; interment will follow at Olive Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service.
