Our Heavenly Father in His infinite wisdom called home the soul of our beloved Apostle Marvin Louis Grant, 70 of Lenoir, on Tuesday June 7, 2022 at his residence.  Born on August 21, 1951 in Rutherfordton, NC, he was the son of the late Robert Excell Hogue and the late Viola Whiteside Grant.  He was educated in the Rutherford County School system and went on to achieve his Associates degree.    Apostle Grant also served his country with the US Military but most of all he became a warrior for Jesus Christ.  He professed his faith in Christ, was baptized in the precious name of Jesus Christ, and filled with the power of the Holy Ghost; he answered the call to ministry and became a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Later in his life, he became the pastor of Gate Called Beautiful Jesus Christ Church of the Apostolic Faith where he faithfully served until his health declined.  The love of his life next to Jesus Christ was his precious wife Cecelia Price Grant, and to this union several children were born.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his wife Cecelia Price Grant of the home, 12 children, a host of grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration honoring the life of Apostle Grant will be held Saturday June 11, 2022 in the Chapel of McCain Funeral Home & Cremations; interment will follow at the Frances-Danner Memorial Park in Lincolnton, NC.  The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
